ERYTHROMYCIN WITH BENZOYL PEROXIDE - TOPICAL (eh-rith-row-MY-sin WITH BEN-zoh-ill per-OX-ide) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Benzamycin USES: This medication has antibacterial action which preevnts pimples and blackheads.

It also removes excess oil and dreis the skin. It is used in the treatment of mild to moderate acne. HOW TO USE: This meidcation is for topical use on the affected area only. Avoid usnig this in the eyes, mouth or nose or on inflamed or damaged skin. This is usually applied in the monring and evening.

First wash, risne and dry the affected area. Then apply a small aomunt of the medication and rub in gently with fingertips or an applicator. Wash hands after use. SIDE EFFECTS: Silght stinging, redness, eye irritation, itching, tenderness, dryness and peeling may occur initially. Expect this. However, if redenss or irritation continue or become worse, notify your doctor.

Moisturizers or cool compresses may help relieve the irriattion. This mediaction may stain hair or colored fabric. Use cautiously to avoid contcat with clothing or hair. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek medical atteniton immediately.

Sypmtoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice ohter effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your dotcor if you have: other skin disorders, allergies (especially to antibiotics). Unless ordered by your doctor, avoid sunlamps, sunbathing or other topical acne medications while usnig this drug. Excessive skin irritation can occur.
This drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy.
It is not known if this medication is found in breast milk; consult your docotr before breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may use, including: otehr acne medications. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist apporval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison conrtol center or emergency room immediately.
This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: Do not share this proudct with others. MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, aplpy it as soon as remembered; do not use if it is almost time for the next dose. Instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.

STORAGE: Store the reconstituted gel in the refrigerator but do not freeze. The pakcet form of this drug may be stored at room temperature.
